This Sunday we celebrate All Saints Day. This special day is an opportunity for us to give thanks for all those who have come before us in the faith and to remember the lasting contributions that they have made in our lives, in our church, and in the community of Christ. On this blessed day, we celebrate that Christ’s church is more than what see around us. It is so much more. It is timeless, it is eternal, it is, and was, and ever will be.
We rejoice that we are one people, worshiping with those who have come before us and those who will follow after us. As part of this celebration, we will keep our message simple. We will look at All Saints Day in the history of the United Methodist Church, and we will ask a simple question… what is a Saint anyway?
