Everyone is welcome at Black Creek UMC.
Here are some questions you might have if you are thinking about joining us for the first time...

I know the service is at 9:30, but when should I actually show up?

  • Most people get to church somewhere between 9:15 and 9:30.  Doors are open by around 8:30, so you can really get there any time after that.

How long is the service going to be?

  • The service is one hour.  Pastor John really tries to get everybody out on time so you won't be in church for hours.

What happens when the service is over?

  • Some people leave right after the service.  Others stay for coffee and snacks in our fellowship hall.

What am I supposed to wear?

  • You can dress however you feel comfortable in church.  Pastor John rarely wears a tie, and most people will wear something like a sweater or polo shirt.  Jeans are fine, and no one will judge you for how you dress.

Where am I supposed to park?

  • There is plenty of parking at Black Creek UMC.  There is a big parking lot and there are several places close to the church for anyone with mobility issues.

What happens if I need to get up during church?

  • No problems there.  No one will get offended or annoyed.

I have kids. What is the deal with kids in worship?

  • As a congregation, we love the noise of kids in church!  No one will give you a hard time about it.  The kids aren't the future of the church, they are the now of the church!

Is there Sunday school or anything?

  • About fifteen minutes into the service, Pastor John does a children's message with the kids.  After that, they have the option of staying with their parents or going to Children's Church.

Can I check out what the service is like before I go?

  • Absolutely!  All of our worship services are available on our Facebook page and on our YouTube channel.  Links for those are at the bottom of the page.  Also, audio versions of all sermons are posted under the "Sermons" tab of this webpage.

What if I have any other questions?
