Here are some questions you might have if you are thinking about joining us for the first time...
I know the service is at 9:30, but when should I actually show up?
- Most people get to church somewhere between 9:15 and 9:30. Doors are open by around 8:30, so you can really get there any time after that.
How long is the service going to be?
- The service is one hour. Pastor John really tries to get everybody out on time so you won't be in church for hours.
What happens when the service is over?
- Some people leave right after the service. Others stay for coffee and snacks in our fellowship hall.
What am I supposed to wear?
- You can dress however you feel comfortable in church. Pastor John rarely wears a tie, and most people will wear something like a sweater or polo shirt. Jeans are fine, and no one will judge you for how you dress.
Where am I supposed to park?
- There is plenty of parking at Black Creek UMC. There is a big parking lot and there are several places close to the church for anyone with mobility issues.
What happens if I need to get up during church?
- No problems there. No one will get offended or annoyed.
I have kids. What is the deal with kids in worship?
- As a congregation, we love the noise of kids in church! No one will give you a hard time about it. The kids aren't the future of the church, they are the now of the church!
Is there Sunday school or anything?
- About fifteen minutes into the service, Pastor John does a children's message with the kids. After that, they have the option of staying with their parents or going to Children's Church.
